Welcome to another exciting edition of the Live Out Loud newsletter! Before we dive into this month’s enriching content, I want to share a delightful experience from the past week that embodies the essence of living out loud.

I recently embarked on a spectacular cruise aboard the Valiant Lady with 18 cherished friends, celebrating the “double nickels” birthday of our dear friend, Fuji. This journey was not just a vacation but a vibrant tapestry of shared memories and new friendships. Most of us have known each other for over 30 years, while some were meeting for the first time. The camaraderie and joy were palpable as we rekindled old bonds and forged new connections.

Our days were filled with an array of fascinating culinary delights from across the globe. We indulged in Asian, Mexican, Thai, and Cuban cuisines, each dish more tantalizing than the last. But it wasn’t just about the food. Fuji's wonderful wife orchestrated a series of unforgettable activities that kept our spirits high and our hearts full.

We danced the night away at a pajama party, embraced the vibrant energy of Scarlet Night, and celebrated the freshness of Green Day. We sang our hearts out during karaoke sessions, shared laughter and stories over special dinners and brunches, and rejuvenated our bodies and minds with luxurious spa days. It was a whirlwind of joy and celebration, so much so that we joked about needing a vacation to recover from our vacation!

This adventure reminded me of the importance of celebrating the ones we love while they are still here, creating memories that will last a lifetime. I can't wait to do it all over again.

Recently, I had the incredible honor of being a featured speaker at the 5th Anniversary of Cal's Kitchen's Celebration of Survivors Nominees & Women Entrepreneurs in John's Creek, GA. The event, orchestrated by the remarkable survivor and founder Ms. Beverly Palmer, was a heartwarming and humbling experience that I will cherish forever.

The venue was abuzz with anticipation as nominees gathered to share their powerful survival stories. Each woman’s account of perseverance and resilience against all odds moved the audience deeply. I don't think there was a dry eye in the crowd as these courageous women recounted their journeys of survival, strength, and triumph.

My speech, titled "Begin with the End in Mind," aimed to inspire and empower, yet I found myself equally inspired by the extraordinary stories shared that day. It was a privilege to stand among such strong and resilient women who have overcome so much and continue to thrive.

Adding to the event's warmth and spirit was the delightful spread of Caribbean cuisine and appetizers prepared by Ms. Palmer. The array of treats for brunch was nothing short of impeccable. The flavors danced on our palates with each bite, leaving a lasting impression. From savory dishes to delectable desserts, everything was absolutely divine. I must confess, the desserts were my favorite – the chocolate eclairs, banana pudding cake, and buttercream cake were simply irresistible. I even broke my usual rule and brought a to-go box home!

The experience was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the power of survival, the beauty of resilience, and the importance of community. I am deeply honored to have been in the company of such inspiring women, sharing stories that touch the heart and soul.

As we move forward, let us carry the spirit of these incredible survivors with us, embracing our own journeys with the same courage and determination. Together, we can continue to Live Out Loud and uplift each other through every challenge and triumph.

Ingredients:

- 12 fresh oysters, shucked

- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

- 3 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

- 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

- 1/4 teaspoon paprika

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Lemon wedges, for serving

Prep Time: - 20 minutes, Cook Time: - 5 minutes, Total Time: - 25 minutes

Servings: - Serves 4 (3 oysters per serving)

Nutritional Value (per serving): - Calories: 180, - Protein: 10g, - Fat: 14g, - Carbohydrates: 3g, - Fiber: 0g, - Sugar: 0g, - Sodium: 300mg

Steps:

1. Preheat Broiler:

Preheat your broiler to high.

2. Prepare Butter Mixture:

In a bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.

3. Shuck Oysters:

Carefully shuck the oysters and place them on a baking sheet. Use rock salt or crumpled foil to keep the oysters steady.

4. Top Oysters:

Spoon the butter mixture evenly over each oyster.

5. Add Cheese:

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese on top of each oyster.

6. Broil Oysters:

Place the baking sheet under the broiler. Broil for about 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the oysters are just cooked through.

7. Serve:
