The Power of Relationships: A Night at Shades Dance Theatre
I was recently reminded of how powerful and beautiful relationships can be when I was invited to see Shades Dance Theatre on tour at Kennesaw State University this past Sunday, September 22, 2024. A long-time friend called me up out of the blue, asking if I could speak with his friend, the Co-Founder of The Shades Society. That call led to an unforgettable evening of art and expression.
I brought one of my "Live Out Loud" sisters along with me, and we were both captivated by the performance of "Mixtape," choreographed by Cameron Terry, the Artistic Director. The show was an incredible blend of movement, music, and storytelling, weaving together powerful emotions and themes.
Beyond the performance, spending time with my friend was also powerful. We both took a much-needed moment to unwind from our hectic lives, enjoying the connection and joy that comes from slowing down and being present with those we care about.
