Volume 37-Rising Stronger & Moving Forward

March 18, 2025

Editor’s Note: Rising Stronger
Greetings, Live Out Loud family!
Whew, y’all. The first quarter of this year has been a rough one for me. I’ve been knocked down with just about everything—COVID, the flu, upper respiratory infections—you name it. Between teaching dance to little ones (who, bless their hearts, are walking germ factories) and pushing through, my body finally said, enough. I had to hit pause and focus on my health because, honestly, if I hadn’t, I would’ve ended up in the hospital.
I want to take a moment to apologize for the break, but more importantly, to remind you—when your body demands rest, listen. Self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.
But here’s the good news: I’m back. And I’m coming back with a vengeance! While I had to push the full launch of the Live Out Loud Sisterhood membership site, I’m excited to announce that we are now gearing up for a mid-April launch! The extra time has allowed us to refine, strengthen, and truly create something special. I cannot wait to share it with you! We are growing, expanding, and positioning ourselves to serve women everywhere in even greater ways.
Stay tuned, stay ready, and most of all—take care of you. I love y’all, and I’ll see you inside the Sisterhood soon!
With gratitude and strength,
Mechel

Feature Article: From Immobile to Unstoppable – Giselle’s Journey with Sisterhood
🚨 Before: Imagine moving to a new country, barely speaking the language, working tirelessly to build a future for your family—only to have everything change in an instant.
That was Giselle’s reality.
💜 Born in the Dominican Republic, she arrived in the U.S. with resilience and big dreams. Through hard work and perseverance, she secured her green card and built her own construction business, creating a better life for her children.
💜 But at just 45 years old, Giselle suffered a stroke. Suddenly, her world stopped. The left side of her body was numb and in constant pain. Doctors told her she might never walk again. Without a strong support system to help her navigate the complex U.S. healthcare system, she was left without critical treatment—until she found the Live Out Loud Sisterhood.
🚀 After: We Refused to Let Giselle Fight Alone.
✨ The Sisterhood became her voice. We advocated for her, ensuring she got the right specialists, neuro experts, and physical therapy treatments.
✨ We helped her build a strategic recovery roadmap, guiding her step by step toward healing.
✨ When her income stopped, we helped her navigate her insurance’s living benefits, giving her financial relief while she recovered.
✨ Most importantly, we stood beside her. We didn’t just check in—we walked with her through every challenge.
🔥 Three months later, Giselle did what doctors thought was impossible—she WALKED again.
💜 And today? Not only is she walking—she’s thriving. She’s back running her construction business, rebuilding her life, and leaning on the Sisterhood that never let her fall.
THIS is what Sisterhood does.
✅ THIS is what happens when women uplift each other.
✅ THIS is why the Live Out Loud Sisterhood exists.

Skill Builder: Break Free from Procrastination – Take Action NOW!
This Week’s Skill: Overcoming Procrastination with Intentional Action
Overview:
Procrastination isn’t just about delaying tasks—it’s often a sign of fear, overwhelm, or perfectionism. When we avoid taking action, we stay stuck in cycles of frustration and missed opportunities. Breaking free from procrastination allows you to reclaim your time, energy, and confidence.
When you master the skill of intentional action, you move from hesitation to momentum, making consistent progress toward your goals.
Step-by-Step Practical Application:
Step 1: Identify Your Procrastination Triggers
Take a moment to reflect on why you’re putting things off. Is it fear of failure? Overwhelm? Perfectionism? Lack of motivation?
🔹 Example: You’ve been avoiding sending an important email because you’re overthinking every word.
Step 2: Use the “5-Minute Start” Rule
Commit to working on a task for just five minutes. Often, getting started is the hardest part, and once you begin, momentum will take over.
🔹 Example: Set a timer for five minutes and write one sentence of your email. You’ll likely keep going once you start.
Step 3: Set Clear & Achievable Goals
Break large tasks into smaller, manageable steps and set a deadline. Be specific about what needs to get done.
🔹 Example: Instead of saying, “I need to write a report,” break it into steps:
1️⃣ Research for 20 minutes
2️⃣ Write the introduction
3️⃣ Complete one section per day
Step 4: Create External Accountability
Tell someone about your goal or task to create gentle pressure to follow through. Having an accountability partner or community support can help you stay on track.
🔹 Example: Share your goal in the Live Out Loud WhatsApp Community so your sisters can encourage and check in with you.
Step 5: Celebrate Progress, Not Just Completion
Each small step forward is a win! Instead of waiting until the entire task is finished to feel accomplished, celebrate every effort.
🔹 Example: If you finish even part of your task, acknowledge your progress. Positive reinforcement helps reinforce action-taking habits.
Affirmation for Success:
"I take action with confidence and purpose. Every step forward is a step toward success."
