A Week of Marvels and Colors: Celebrating “Live Out Loud” in style (3 minute read)

Live Out Loud Meetup

What a week it was, bursting with moments that shimmered with sheer wonder. It all began on a glorious November 3rd, a date that sparkled on the calendar – it was my birthday! But this year, the magic didn't stop there. It marked the inception of countless "Live Out Loud" in-person gatherings to come. The theme that adorned this inaugural event was none other than "Colors of Courage," a vibrant tapestry of joy and unity.

Picture this: a jubilant gathering where the air was filled with the effervescent spirit of celebration. Our guests arrived bedecked in an array of color, donning everything from vivid pajamas to the coziest loungewear. Every hue told a unique story of bravery, and our colorful outfits symbolized the courage that's been our guiding light.

As we gathered, there was an orchestra of laughter and the tantalizing aroma of delectable treats that would soon grace our palates. The eclectic menu was a harmonious fusion of flavors – from the zesty Garlic Lime Roasted Shrimp that danced on our taste buds to the whimsical Prosecco Grapesicles that popped with fizzy delight. And who could forget the elegance of Tortellini Alfredo, served with love in tiny spoons, or the comforting embrace of Roasted Tomato Soup? The Bowtie Pasta and Cocktail Meatball Skewers were an embodiment of culinary artistry, and the Lemon Garlic Butter Lamb Chops left us craving for more.

Balloons adorned the venue like confetti in the sky, echoing the laughter that flowed freely, bonding us closer with each shared story and hearty chuckle. But amidst all the culinary delights, one delectable delight stole the show – Antionette Scott's Red Velvet bundt cake desserts were nothing short of enchanting.

And as we sipped on our "Love Below" – a signature drink crafted by the skilled hands of Master Mixologist Mitch Farley – we couldn't help but feel the love and camaraderie that filled the air.

But no celebration is complete without the dedicated individuals who pour their heart and soul into making it a success. A heartfelt shout-out to Ashleigh McConico (my beloved daughter), Alisha Benitez-Williams (my cherished niece), and Joy Carter (my sister-circled by love). Their quick thinking and support made this colorful extravaganza a reality.

"I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the S.H.A.D.E.S. sisters, the silent heroes who always find their place where they are needed most. Your support and dedication are deeply appreciated. I love you all dearly. Thank you for making every moment truly special."

I am deeply grateful to all who graced the event with their presence and to those who sent their love from afar. This week was a kaleidoscope of memories, a celebration of courage, and a promise of many more joy-filled gatherings to come. Here's to living out loud, in color, and in courage!

With boundless gratitude,

Reparenting

Mindset Mastery- Reparenting, Nurturing Your Inner Child for Healing and Growth

Today, let's embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing as we delve into the transformative concept of "reparenting." What in the world is that, you say? Reparenting, at its core, is a powerful process that allows you to become the nurturing and compassionate parent to your own inner child, fostering growth, healing, and self-love.

What is Reparenting?

Reparenting is the act of providing the care, love, and support to yourself that you may not have received in your earlier years. It involves tending to the emotional wounds and unmet needs of your inner child. By offering the understanding and compassion you may have longed for as a child, you can begin the journey of healing past traumas and building a foundation of self-acceptance.

How to Reparent Yourself:

  1. Self-Awareness: The first step in reparenting is self-awareness. Take time to reflect on your past, exploring moments when your needs were unmet or when you felt emotionally wounded. Journaling or speaking with a therapist can help in this process.

  2. Identify Your Inner Child: Picture your younger self, the child within you who carries those unmet needs and emotional wounds. Recognize the age at which some of these wounds originated.

  3. Self-Compassion: Be kind and compassionate to yourself. Imagine the nurturing words and actions you would have wanted from a loving parent and offer them to your inner child. Practice self-compassion in your thoughts and actions.

  4. Meet Your Needs: Identify the unmet needs of your inner child, whether they're emotional, physical, or psychological. Take steps to fulfill these needs in a healthy and loving way. It might involve setting boundaries, seeking support, or simply being gentle with yourself.

  5. Healthy Practices: Engage in self-care routines that nourish your inner child. This could include activities you loved as a child, such as art, music, or spending time in nature.

  6. Therapeutic Support: Consider working with a therapist or counselor who specializes in inner child work. They can guide you through the process and provide valuable insights.

  3. Therapists and Counselors: Seek a qualified therapist who specializes in inner child work or self-reparenting. They can provide personalized guidance.

Reparenting is a profound journey of self-discovery and self-love. By tending to the needs of your inner child, you open the door to healing, growth, and the freedom to live out loud as your true and authentic self. Remember, it's never too late to give yourself the love and care you deserve.
